Iceland provides the backdrop to powerful images of isolated wilderness encroached on by man. These images are both pictorial & yet pose an underlying question about our progress as an urbanist race. Is the routing of our supply of power & data to our communities acceptably hidden from our day to day gaze or an imposition on our empty wide open spaces and our most beautiful of minimalist landscapes?

A well respected fellow photographer relayed to me how he had many times been into the forest to feel its atmosphere, listen to its sounds and smell the aromas from its foliage and earthy ground. He also shared that he had been frustrated in that he felt he had never captured those feelings & the essence of the forest in his photographs. I took this as a challenge and felt I should try to capture something of what my senses found. What better place to go than the New Forest in Hampshire, UK.
